This page includes cycling friendly accommodation providers. Some are recognised as cyclist friendly and others offer similar facilities outside an ‘official’ scheme*.
In Scarborough:
the Waves B&B – Quality Four Star Silver Award Bed and Breakfast on Scarborough’s South Cliff. Near to the Spa Complex & have an award for their breakfast menu. Choices from free range Full English to vegetarian using local and organic produce.
Atlanta Hotel is a friendly B&B hotel in Scarborough. They have bike storage, bike wash facilities & space to dry kit. Evening meals are available.
Norlands Hotel. “At the Norlands the emphasis is on relaxation and comfort. We pride ourselves on the quality of our home cooked breakfast and the use of fresh local produce. We are also more than happy to cater for vegan, vegetarian and special diets such as gluten-free.
Unfortunately, we only cater for children over the age of 3.

Scarborough YHA – a nice old mill in a very pleasant riverside location near North Bay. Being a YHA you will know what to expect if you’ve used Youth Hostels before. You often get a friendly helpful attitude from other guests with a community feel to the stay.
In or near Dalby Forest:
Basin Howe Farm have four self catered luxury 2 bed cottages, 2 of which accept dogs. Ride from the driveway to Dalby and meet the red route in less than 3 miles. Secure bike storage and a bike cleaning area.
High Dalby House in Dalby Forest offers ‘Holidays, Holy Days and retreats’. Both self catered and bed & breakfast accommodation with secure bike storage, cleaning and repair facilities. They’re very close to the start of the blue and red mountain bike trails.
Southmoor Farm – a friendly B&B in Dalby Forest near to the trails. A few minutes from Dixon Hollow. I’ve been told by previous guests that the breakfasts are substantial!
Low Farm Campsite, Ellerburn – a short ride to Dalby, this is a quiet site open from March to 31st October with 30 pitches available for tents, caravans and motor homes.
North York Moors (or close-by):
Kale Pot Cottage – a converted 18th Century barn offering peace and tranquillity due to it’s quiet location. Lot’s of local wildlife, located 10 miles north of Pickering and 45 mins from York.
Ivy Cottage – a fully furnished 3 bedroomed Yorkshire stone cottage, ideally located within the historic market town of Helmsley in the North York Moors. It’s been awarded a 4* quality rating from Visit England, and has achieved that rating every year that it’s been rented as a holiday home. Ideal for families with children of all ages and accredited as providing specialist facilities for walkers and cyclists.
Rowan holiday Cottage – a three bedroomed cottage offering flexible start dates and holiday durations. The cottage sleeps up to six people and offers beautiful views over the delightful Esk Valley. The owners have a strong environmental ethic and further info on this is on their website.
Keepers Cottage – a ‘Visit Britain’ 4* holiday cottage in Gillamoor, not far from Kirkbymoorside. Cyclists & walkers welcome.
Sea Fern – Sea Fern is a spacious, cycling friendly holiday cottage in the heart of Fylingthorpe, within 1 mile of Robin Hood’s Bay and the beach. It is a three bedroom cottage and sleeps six people. There is secure bike storage within a garage, with anchors to lock up your bikes, and it offers a comprehensive set of bike maintenance tools. It is within easy access of the Cinder Track (a walking/cycling route from Scarborough to Whitby).
