Mountain Bike Skills Courses & Coaching
“Huge thanks goes to @ChasingTrails
for the excellent skills tuition he gave me. Probably the best bike related purchase I’ve ever made” – tweeted by James after a 1:1 day
Want to upgrade your mountain bike skills? Unlock your mountain bike’s potential?
Book a 1:1 or 1:2 day or a course for your group.
A MTB skills course should do at least these 2 things:
- give you a solid set of skills that you can trust
- improve your mental attitude to riding
Take a look at the comment pages for previous clients thoughts. Riders sometimes start a course claiming they’ll be the unteachable one but happily, in nearly 10 years no-one has lived up to this fear!
Skills courses take place at Dalby Forest & it has an ideal mix for all abilities. Courses are available for all skill levels & due to changing demand, all skills days are now exclusive. You can book a 1:1 or 1:2 day or as an exclusive group of up to 8. Courses are tailored to suit, whether you require individual coaching or you want to learn with friends, family, club or work colleagues.
The trails at Dalby usually feel less busy than numbers in the car parks suggest. The red route is over 20 miles which helps spread out the traffic. It also splits easily into smaller loops which helps us focus on skills without having to ride long distances.
Some people worry that they might not be fit enough for a skills day. However, the focus is on learning, so there’s more starting & stopping than a usual ride, so plenty of chance to get your breath! Dalby has varied features close together on the sections we’ll be on the most.
If you’re in any doubt though, please ask.
Book a skills course:
Bookings for all MTB skills courses are confirmed on receipt of payment. This can be via the PayPal buttons on the relevant page or you can phone to pay by card or for details to pay by bank transfer.
To arrange a date, either email or phone for availability, whichever you prefer.
Chasing Trails gift vouchers are available for all courses, ideal gifts for mountain bikers from beginners to experienced.
If you’re wondering if your bike is good enough please see the checklist, but a very rough guide is that a bike that cost over £400 new that’s in good working order is normally fine.
