Join a group MTB skills course:
Each group MTB skills course below has set dates listed so that you can book a place as an individual. Select the date & then adjust the number of places required on the PayPal screen. Alternatively you can pay over the phone. All the courses are run at Dalby Forest, but please ask if you want one at your local trails.
Courses include foundation and intermediate skills and we’ve also had lots of success with the drops & jumps course. Riders who were previously ‘wheels on the ground’ at all times have gained the skills to get airborne, ranging from teens to 60+.

If you have your own group together you can book an exclusive course on a date to suit your group.
Foundation MTB skills
If you haven’t had any instruction before, start with this one – it covers the basics in a day, giving you a solid set of confidence boosting skills, such as:
- Basic bike setup – some principles to help get your bike on your side!
- Riding position – be one with the bike
- Brakes – be safe & efficient. Stop going over the bars!
- Gears – maximise your input!
- Drop-offs – ride small drops with confidence!
- Corners – learn to use the banking, it’s your friend!
- Front wheel lifts – own those (smaller) trail obstacles!
Foundation Courses are 9:30 to 3:30.
Intermediate MTB skills (½ day course):
Take your MTB skills up another level. This is for riders who’ve completed the foundation course or are already comfortable with those skills and want to move onwards & upwards!
If you’re wondering why there’s not an advanced group course listed it’s because that’s much more suited to a 1:1 setting. The 1:1 format works well for all levels but it’s essential when it comes to advanced coaching.
Advanced cornering – tweaks to help you corner faster & find more grip
Flow – individual skills are great, but they’re better when they link together
Manuals, rear wheel lifts & bunny-hops – deal with larger trail obstacles

Drops & Jumps (½ day course):
Do you have generally good MTB skills but still think of yourself as a ‘wheels on the ground’ rider? Or do you just want to make your drops/jumps technique more reliable? A Chasing Trails drop & jumps course is what you need!
Air can be as natural & consistent as any other skill. You can learn to float drops & ride jumps with control. Since 2008 the success rate has been pretty much 100% for all kinds of riders. So far, the upper age range has been 67 years young!

You can also get 3 – 8 riders together & arrange a date to suit. An exclusive drops & jumps course is £175 on a weekday & £190 on a Saturday or Sunday. As with the open group course, it’s a half day (3 hour) course.
